A reclusive civilisation of short, sturdy, long-lived humanoids dwelling deep in the perilous heart of the galaxy — descendants of human colonists from a lost golden age of technology, now grown into something distinct. Often called the Kin, they endure as tight-knit, fiercely self-reliant clans of miners, traders and mercenaries who answer to no Imperial law.
