A political officer attached to the Imperium’s armies and fleets to enforce discipline, courage and devotion to the Emperor. Standing apart from the ordinary chain of command, a Commissar inspires troops by example, and is empowered to execute on the spot any who falter or flee. Many are raised and trained from orphans schooled in the Imperial faith.
